Sen Scott Brown, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins--What Do They Have In Common

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:25-27

The above three Senators are standing up for an agenda that would sacrifice a soldiers's life.  It is traitorous when one takes into account that we are at war and a Marine Corp General has warned them it will risk the lives of his men.

"When your life hangs on the line," said Gen. James F. Amos, the commandant of the Marine Corps, "you don't want anything distracting. . . . Mistakes and inattention or distractions cost Marines' lives."

Why chance it?  The brave and right thing to do would say no to this repeal of don't ask don't tell. Facts on the full Pentagon report shows overall the impact on unit trust would be negatively impacted -75% Army combat arms and 85% Marine combat arms and 24%-almost a quarter of them will leave earlier than planned. 

How can these three servants of the people and this nation seek to serve a very loud minority over the safety of our nation and it's soldiers?   It is traitorous when one considers they swore to defend this nation.  These senators also act as if they do not realize that this is a nation under God and He is watching.  Bernie Madoff didn't get away with it and I doubt neither will they.  The price of lives for power is even worse than money and Americans throughout are seeing the ugly truth before their eyes of what RINOs mean.  Senator Scott Brown was a praised name but no longer--he has now earned a new name.

"No Greater Love", Our Military and US

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  John 15:13

This scripture should mean a lot to each of us when we think of our military men and women .  When you think of how much throughout history, time and time again our military have sacrificed so much blood, sweat, tears and family to protect our way of life--then we as grateful citizens should be more than happy to come to their aid when called upon specially if it just means phone calls.

• Chaplains won't be able to freely express their faith, Daniel Blomberg of Alliance Defense Fund said "they feel that repealing don't ask, don't tell will put them in the situation where they have to choose between obeying the God they serve and the country they love."

Remedy for Depression of the Economy and People-- Christmas and the Wonderful Music It Brings

Christmas makes the world's economies go round.  Early on, it was amazing to hear news on Bloomberg, how plans were being made for orders to fill demand this time of the year when the world give gifts in honor of Christ's birth.  Indeed, it is a culmination with physical and spiritual implications.  And this year more than ever it gives meaning to the survival of many businesses.  Even many atheists unknowingly put their hope on this celebration of the Savior-- hoping their stocks and/ or its subsidiaries does well on the check-out registers.  Even great and mighty nations hold their breath, hoping against hope for a great celebration of Christmas.  Only God can do such a thing.

It is incredible how Christ's birth parallels the hope it gives for the soul of each man.  How Christ is perceived and truly celebrated also means survival of the soul when this world is no more.  Christ saves.  God knows we are not just men but also spirit and I believe he gives us lessons of the physical and spiritual as well of now and tomorrow all wrapped up in the birth of his Son.  Christmas gives a taste of joy now and joy to come forever eternally--when his gift is accepted returned with our only gift worth giving.  And it's certainly not money, nor gold , nor fame as none of that matters to the maker of Heaven and Earth.

But when we give what we have--what does He give us?  An inheritance in heaven, no man can take away and sins forgiven and life with meaning in the eyes of him from whom all blessings flow. 

The whole world has been searching for it...if you don't know... Him...today is a great day to embark on that journey.  And you will find you will never walk alone...But for the grace of God--it makes all the difference!  Trust him after all he gave his "all" for you.   Merry Christmas.

Thanksgiving Proclamations--June 1676 and November 1777

In today's world where successful men and women grace magazines such as Time, People and many tv networks, is it no wonder that many do not realize where true succes come from?  Today's media is so good at showcasing the many people who have affected different parts of our culture and world and many are celebrated with great awards and bestowed with high honor.   As we have seen the rise of honor of man we see the very opposite of the honor bestowed on the acknowledgment of the God who was held in such high esteem in this nation's lowly beginnings.

Yet even with all the accolades bestowed on these famous men and women why are most of them so miserable?  Could it be that so many have been placed on such a pedestal that they can no longer humble themselves to bow before Him as they now think themselves like gods in their own eyes?

God is so good to give us a time of renewal, a coming back to Him.  Thanksgiving was another opportunity for us in this nation to remember where our blessings come from.  It is certainly not from our mere mortal self.  Rather it as acknowledged  in the original Thanksgiving Proclamation in June 1676--our Holy God hath mercy.  According to those original proclaimers we should be found as an insensible people if we fail to give offering of praise and glorify Him (ironic but true when you think about those who can't find true joy).

Also in the first national Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1777--one can't doubt that the founders believed in a godly foundation throughout.

...It is therefore recommended to the legislative or executive powers of these United States, to set apart Thursday, the 18th day of December next, for solemn thanksgiving and praise; that with one heart and one voice the good people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts, and consecrate themselves to the service of their divine benefactor; and that together with their sincere acknowledgments and offerings, they may join the penitent confession of their manifold sins, whereby they had forfeited every favor, and their humble and earnest supplication that it may please God, through the merits of Jesus Christ, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of remembrance; that it may please him graciously to afford his blessings on the governments of these states respectively, and prosper the public council of the whole; to inspire our commanders both by land and sea, and all under them, with that wisdom and fortitude which may render them fit instruments, under the providence of Almighty God, to secure for these United States the greatest of all blessings, independence and peace; that it may please him to prosper the trade and manufactures of the people and the labor of the husbandman, that our land may yield its increase; to take schools and seminaries of education, so necessary for cultivating the principles of true liberty, virtue and piety, under his nurturing hand, and to prosper the means of religion for the promotion and enlargement of that kingdom which consisteth in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.

November 2nd was a movement by those who have tried man's ways and found it wanting.  The Constitution is being seen again as a very important and inspired document worth following according to original intent.  We saw tyranny rise again but November 2nd shows it has met its match.  An awakened America no longer trusting the government where evil intent has reined is now willing to go to work and secure the blessings of liberty.   So this Thanksgiving, Americans knew they have a lot to be grateful for as God allowed a new beginning when the people finally remembered the government God blessed them with--and that it belongs to "We the people."  Let us not forget and thank Him from whom all blessings flow.

Finding The Way Back Through The Heart For The Miley Cyrus Of This World

We win some--we lose some.  This week's loss for children in Alabama with the adoption of the common core standards opened the door to taking stock at what's happening in America.   It has been said by none other than the very wise President Abe Lincoln "the philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next."  Indeed there is a war for control of the school room for it will direct the future of America.

America even during these worrisome times is looked upon by the world as the land where dreams can come true.  As in the beginning, there were dreams from parents to have a better world for their most precious possession--their children in this land full of promise.  

Today in America we see teens clothed in splendor yet lacking in wisdom and true joy.  They seek to fill the pain within as material comforts have made them and their parents forget where true comfort and joy come from. The Bible says the beginning of wisdom is the "fear" or awe of the Lord.  The Bible is a guide--it was in the beginning of this nation and it still is today.  But today unlike then, it's wisdom is no longer welcomed in the training of the children.  And so hard as they try the bureaucrats can't help but fail year after year, programs after programs.  

Alas, the latest one--common core standards is the tallest order of all--"if only we in Washington can direct them all--we will teach all the children to learn alike."  It reminds me of the builders of the towers of Babel.  The Bible says unless the Lord be in it they build in vain.  And the building up of children through the Department of Education is very lacking indeed and the more money they throw at it--the worse it gets.

One does not have to go far to see where the next generation is headed, like in Miley Cyrus who I saw tonight, the idol of many children of today.  Miley is lost and is not looking in the right direction.  Her parents too have lost their footings and can't find their own way.

But Miley has something priceless in her corner--an older generation--a  loving Grandma that tried to teach her when she was little that Jesus lives within her heart.  I believe this and her Grandma's prayers to the Almighty God can make all the difference and help the Mileys of this world find their way someday.  Hopefully the parents will find Him and their way back too. 

So, chin up for the likes of me and you, who cares about the future generation, let's get back to work and it begins on our knees.  George Washington did it--a long long time ago.  And heaven smiled and miracles after miracles happened.  We need them today--please let's all help and lift up this nation, our children to our merciful God in prayer.
