Weather By The Hour

Don't forget as you check on the weather to check in with the One who calms the storms!

Fields White To Harvest

Lord, I thought I knew you,

but know the winds have changed.

Tossed away, will you find me?

Can still , my heart be sustained?

Just me and you when things were new,

then the season's storms blew by.

Did I forget to worship you?

Will you come, Lord Jesus to gather us- your sheep.

For the days grow long and still,

If we watch and wait, will you hear us yet-

Can we stand strong to do you will?

The wheat has been blowing in that field,

While the laborers are so few.

What then, now are we waiting for?

Can hardened hearts become like new?

Safely can we stay behind you,

as we march with your trumpet sound?

Or- have we stayed and hid so long now,

   That our roots dry underground?

I pray Lord that you will find me.

I pray not to be ashamed.

I seek you when it's early Lord.

I pray not to fall away.

So come Lord Jesus come quickly-

The terrible day is at hand.

I pray we'll all be steadfast.

So you may strengthen our spirits ,

as we stand.

God Is Not Mocked

There is such a war against the knowledge of God everywhere.  It is in our schools, in our government, in our states and even in our military.   From topics such as gambling and same sex marriage, man has held his own self up on a pedestal as if he is god.  Many in this nation has forgotten its humble beginnings and the growing pains endured.  Men such as George Washington who bent their knees and bowed their heads in awe to Almighty God are held up by many today as having had no such relationship with Jesus Christ.

But you see, history, true history can not be erased.  The founders in their inspired wisdom required records to be kept and from their own writings the doubts evaporate- if one dared to find the truth.  And truth set the founders free to form a new nation and with their groanings to their Maker, which was heard, a miraculous thing happened and one of the greatest nation was born.

It reminds me of Solomon who asked God for wisdom --the founders did the same--as you see the beginning of wisdom was the fear or "awe" of God and this they had and they sought his guidance.  And like Solomon they were also given riches such as the world has never seen.

To whom much is given, much is expected.  But alas, today many have gotten too proud as if opportunities they received in this land was of their own making and they thought themselves as a god.  So much so that with disdain they look upon the Bible and faith as a crutch for those who are weak.

Without the underpinnings of the foundation based on God's word--slowly the enemy tries to crumble what was good about this nation.  In every segment of society what is evil is being promoted as good.  Gambling promoters are now seen as saviors of jobs and education.  The homosexual agenda seeks to portray themselves as enlightened seeking to shine the truth so one no longer has to lie about who they are in the military and even has the audacity to show themselves as making our children safer in the schools.  Many so-called Christians are even putting out a rally cry as Iowans are seeing in the same-sex marriage issue and also in the gambling issue of Alabama.

Does these Christians really think that God does not see their innermost thoughts and motivations?  I pray there will be a turning of those to God and I pray against the lies of the enemy that seeks to devour their souls.  God will not be mocked.  He watches over us all and he will not hold his judgment forever.   Hear the podcast of two men in the fight along with a teen who have one thing in common--they know the truth--and they want to shine His light in the dark.

The Tea Party and Sarah Palin--How They Won't Labour in Vain!

Why is America flocking to Sarah Palin? In a world that is seemingly upside down--where people feel they are losing their bearings as they are passed to and fro by the waves of today's cultural changes--is a beacon of light named Sarah. She came to the limelight not of her own choosing but in an answer to a call. And in today's state of the American Woman who now joins in the fight in the battlefield of war she also decides to join in the battlefield of politics.

She was hailed as the very popular governor of Alaska and the work she was doing against giants in the oil business was respected for the hope it provided for her state. Amidst the tumult of Presidential politics she dared to give birth to a disabled child that doctors today normally does not allow to enter this world alive. And in spite of a double whammy with a daughter in trouble--her and her husband's love shone through. She also kept on speaking the truth instead of what's politically correct--how amazing is that! To top it off, she gave us a picture of a hockey mom with the tenacity of a pit bull lined with lipstick and we cheered! Here, finally, was someone in politics who was proud to be a mom and who could fight and at the same time keep her femininity.

In this new era, we saw in Sarah an Abigail and an Esther combined in a politician. She gave us hope when we saw her fight in the tough political arena surrounded by power and fame as she did what many consider "unthinkable" (hold with pride her disabled baby). And I amongst many, thanks her, for in that instant we saw something better than good--we saw the heart of a loving mother--who did what should always be done--value the life of a child ahead of her own future. She reminded us then and she reminds us now--there is goodness and mercy even in the halls of power--and there is still room for the least of us.

Why is she this way?  Well we can take heart America--she's learned well from the same good book the Founders did--the Holy Bible. It worked for them and it will work for us as well. As a matter of fact that is probably where Sarah's anchor is. She has a knowledge of God and it shows. And because her foundations are solid we will know how she will stand unlike many in Congress today. She has a servant's heart and will serve not just her family well, but will also serve this nation well.

She really doesn't have it in her to do otherwise--she has stood the test of time. Perfect she's not--no one is but as a politician she is close enough to perfect for me. And as far as knowledge- what's needed to accomplish the goal--she's already proven that in her state of Alaska (ask the oil companies). In comparison with others in the highest of places--her record is full of truly making it a better place for those she served. I think that's why those ready for real visible change vs promises are flocking behind her. She's a proven entity that when the going gets tough--the tough gets going and you don't let the enemy corner you-- instead you find a better way to be heard. In the land of the free and home of the brave that is something men and women alike in the tea party want in their leaders today.

Sarah has revolutionized the thinking of many men of today. She is even being seen by them as a viable Presidential Candidate. Whether or not she becomes President, only time will tell but one thing I see--she has raised the equality of woman to man -the right way.

She has proven herself not an antagonist to men but a helper, after all, I believe that was part of God's plan when he made Eve. It is timely, as in today's world, it will take both of us-- men and women to fight the tide that seeks to destroy our future as well as our children's future. We see that in the economy, in education and in morality--troubles loom large and seems to be everywhere.  Defend we must! So come on America, let's pray, and join together in this land where the tough gets going. A new American Revolution is underway--but let's follow the Founding Father's way! And together we can-- throw out some tea!

Benjamin Franklin said ----

In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, graciously answered....

I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel...

I therefore beg leave to move- henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business...

State of the Union Address by Obama

The State of the Union Address was another disappointment.  All of us wished it would have been good.  Instead it was the same old-same old song.  This Pres unfortunately did not get the message of the Tea Parties or the recents wins in Virginia or New Jersey or most recently the blue state of Massachusetts.  There was too much of half truths and half lies as your solution of how to reduce the deficit  (that came through our weary minds), is certainly not going to happen through an equation of health care bill and climate bill added in with more promises of big government (we've heard that before again and again and again).

All the promises of vetoing earmarks comes after some pretty vast earmarks you've been shown to approve at the worst times of our economy and at that with a so-called emergency stimulus bill (what was up with that--certainly no control shown there!)  And this new promise to help our young people with the cost of their college to supposedly help their future when all signs point-- that you will be placing the greatest amount of debt this nation has ever seen on their shoulders, their future (so please explain again how much you care about their future?)

See Mr. Pres the American people can add and they realized with more certainty today that you are giving more hog wash than ever before and the stench has reached even the noses of many die-hard Democrats.  I think Americans were hoping for the best but realized again this administration is not listening--most Americans will have one recourse given to them by the Founding Fathers--"We the people" can still vote!

And vote we shall November 2, 2010--then Mr. Pres it won't matter if you don't hear because the next Congress will have their ears cleaned and will be more than willing to bend down and listen.

Abortion--Who will answer the call?

This is Sanctity of Life Week--please listen to our interview Thurs-Jan 28th with Sandra Cano of Doe v Bolton (companion case to Roe v Wade) at this audio link--click on the words 1-28-10 Abortion issue (in blue to hear it).

This is an excerpt from Nevada Life:

Leo Alexander, who was consultant to the Secretary of War and on duty with the office of Chief Counselor for War Crimes in Nuremberg, says that what happened in Nazi Germany "all started with the acceptance of the attitude that there is such a thing as life not worthy to be lived."

An elderly German man who lived through the Holocaust tells the following story:

I always considered myself a Christian. I attended a church since I was a small boy. We had heard the stories of what was happening to the Jews; but like most people in America today, we tried to distance ourselves from the reality of what was really taking place. What could anyone do to stop it?

A railroad track ran behind our small church, and each Sunday morning we would hear the whistle from a distance and then the clacking of the wheels moving over the track. We became disturbed when one Sunday we heard cries coming from the train as it passed by. We grimly realized that the train was carrying Jews.

Week after week that train whistle would blow. We would dread to hear the sound of those old wheels because we knew that the Jews would begin to cry out to us as they passed our church. It was so terribly disturbing! We could do nothing to help these poor people, yet their screams tormented us. We knew exactly at what time that whistle would blow, and we decided the only way to keep from being so disturbed by the cries was to start singing our hymns. If some of the screams reached our ears, we'd just sing a little louder until we could hear them no more.

Years have passed, and no one talks about it much any more; but I still hear that train whistle in my sleep. I can still hear them crying out for help. God forgive all of us who called ourselves Christians, yet did nothing to intervene.

Hopefully we are shedding our apathy in this nation--so much so that this issue has held up the health care reform that was being pushed down our throats.  But there is so much more to be done.  So I call out to you for help for the little ones whose cries can't be heard as they move inside their mother's womb from those that makes sure they are never heard.  Please pray for strength for this nation and each of us individually to do our part.

If you are a mother who made the mistake and want to help turn the tide--please go to Operation Outcry where you can with full confidentiality sign an affidavit (initials-if you wish) as the Supreme Court has acknowledged the harm done by abortion but they need a much larger number of testimonies--your help is very much needed.

Number of abortions per year--Worldwide: Approximately 42 Million
                                                           USA:              1.37 Million (1996)

What Does All Of America's Problems Have In Common

City On A Hill Radio Show is now on Mon-Friday and unlike the old format--things are happening so fast it is almost a blur.  I regret that I have not written about each of my guests as I would have liked to.  God in his grace has given all of us a chance to share in each other's lives--sometimes it is with joy but many times it is with pain.  The news is full information I would rather not hear but hiding my head in the sand is no solution (for me and I daresay not for you either.)  It is a responsibility to know the true news so that right decisions and actions can be made.  You and I have heard it said that unfortunately there maybe nothing we can do because the media will not let the truth come out.   I believe in today's world each of us can be part of that truth media. We of City On A Hill Radio Show will strive to do our part.  And we invite you to listen and share the podcasts with your friends and family.

I remember a story about a snowflake and how a single one on a branch doesn't make a difference but when other snowflakes fall--the weight of all those snowflakes can break a tree branch.  I believe we have a chance to break through the tyranny of today's mainstream media as each one of us together armed with knowledge--matters greatly-- in diverting the path America is taking.  Insanity was a word used by John Bernard regarding today's rules of engagement.  Fraud was a word used by Dr. Edward Boudreaux, a scientist speaking on C02 emmissions and global warming.

Indeed it is a world turned upside down where right is wrong and wrong is right.  But it is good to remember that all of America's problems and ours have something in common as part of the solution.  Just as Benjamin Franklin said:

In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, graciously answered....

We can do the same!!  So let's not get too depressed America instead let us remember to start with daily prayers and hopefully our prayers too--will be graciously answered.

The Selling of Souls in the U S Senate-Blanche Lincoln, Mary Landrieu, Jo Lieberman, Ben Nelson etc.

Isn't it ironic that on the eve of the celebration of the Savior's birth--is a pivotal event in this nation's history. Freedom maybe lost and the price maybe what our Savior came to save--these Senators souls?

The question:

What would it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? This is a question that everyone of those in the Senate should be asking themselves on that fateful moment.

They are doing this not just on any day but on the day that God sent the world a choice as Truth became Man--the Son of God in the flesh. How awesome is that. It is also an opportunity for us who are called by his name to ask God for supernatural intervention and grace. For too long many in the body of Christ has been apathetic about their role in government.  The story of Houston, Texas electing a gay mayor with 83,000 votes out of 2.2 million (only 16% voted) is a sad witness by the Christian churches in that glimmering town.  They have followed the path of Sodom and Gomorrah and for some reason do not think they will be punished--I wish they were right--because I fear the punishment may be for all of America.

I hope the pastors who have been quiet about the need for us to vote for godly leaders will wake up and start giving the full counsel of God instead of just the politically correct version--after all our souls belong to Christ and all must answer.  Even the most powerful in the land will have to account and their vote on Christmas 'Eve may mean a lot for the fate of this nation to continue shining like a city on a hill.

Let us as we pray this Christmas eve pray also for the holy spirit to lead these senators to make the right vote.  It is only fitting and right and may God hear our plea.

Houston, Texas--Are You Blind and Deaf Toward The Full Counsel of God?

Houston--The Eagle Has Landed In The Path of Destruction

In the land of milk and honey there is a town called Houston with glimmering skies full of glass and steel.  Strength and size it has along with everything money can buy.  But amidst this modern towering town breathes an air of indifference to its foundation.  Cracks are showing up under their noses and the stench will now be rising.  An opulent population of 2.2 million, this is indeed a place where one can have anything one desires.  But in their fulfilling of wants--it is important to see the "neglect" of their beginnings.  No longer do they remember the giver of their blessed way of life--"their government" . Amidst the success of its huge mega-churches that do a spectacular job of making people feel good--they forgot it is good to honor and obey the full counsel of God from whom all blessings flow.  Did they forget to emphasize his Word that says:

Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth , hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.  Exodus 18:21

Did they also forget the lessons from two other glimmering, successful towns of Sodom and Gomorrah?  They must have because they are following in their footsteps.  Maybe many Houston churches wanted to be politically correct which parallels the story of Lot--as he too for correctness-- would sacrifice the same thing"his children".  Houston has closed its eyes to the consequences for their own children because that is going to be the bottom line of the gay agenda as evidenced by the Safe Schools Czar's dream Kevin Jennings for homosexuality indoctrination to be in Kindergarten to 12th grade.

The stench of apathy for is so clear when you see evil win out of a population of 2.2 million.  Only 16% voted and the highly touted gay mayor won by 83,000 votes--how many Christians does Houston have--I would think more than 16% of the population would say they were Christians.

We forget what Jesus said that not everyone that calls him Lord, Lord will enter heaven--but he that doeth the will of the Father.  Those in Houston as well as the rest of us in this nation is taking a chance that maybe we will enter heaven with our own thoughts and our ways.  Let us not fail Him who gave his all for us and let us strive starting today to do the will of the Father in "all things" and may God have mercy on us and our nation.  Houston, Texas is just an example-- a good example--hope we all can learn.
