Lord, I thought I knew you,
but know the winds have changed.
Tossed away, will you find me?
Can still , my heart be sustained?
Just me and you when things were new,
then the season's storms blew by.
Did I forget to worship you?
Will you come, Lord Jesus to gather us- your sheep.
For the days grow long and still,
If we watch and wait, will you hear us yet-
Can we stand strong to do you will?
The wheat has been blowing in that field,
While the laborers are so few.
What then, now are we waiting for?
Can hardened hearts become like new?
Safely can we stay behind you,
as we march with your trumpet sound?
Or- have we stayed and hid so long now,
That our roots dry underground?
I pray Lord that you will find me.
I pray not to be ashamed.
I seek you when it's early Lord.
I pray not to fall away.
So come Lord Jesus come quickly-
The terrible day is at hand.
I pray we'll all be steadfast.
So you may strengthen our spirits ,
as we stand.

Jefferson quoted in his Bill for Religious Freedom '...and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself; that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate.'
It simply means truth always prevails over evil and error unless man interposes-- cut off-- free argument and debate.
The recent shootings in Tucson, Arizona by Jared Lougher has led the American people to look at where America is headed amidst the news frenzy.
Jared Lougher has inadvertenly led the American people to look at the two sides of what is right and what is wrong for the future of America. That is indeed what was pointed out by Sarah Palin on her video "America's Enduring Strength". She sought wisdom from the LORD and it shows and she's reminding us of the importance of free argument and debate.
Throughout out history we see exceptional leaders derive their greatness from seeking the giver of wisdom. We see it in the picture of George Washington on his knees at Valley Forge and back then he was in the midst of a war. In 1777 at Valley Forge many of his soldiers died for lack of supplies such as shoes, blankets etc. Many of the soldiers had to have their feet and legs amputated. Under those circumstances George Washington humbly prayed to Almighty God for his people. And God Almighty heard and we continue to benefit from those answered prayers today.
Sarah Palin, I believe heard from the Lord and she has turned the conversation around the right way.
She said "No one must be deterred from speaking up and speaking out in peaceful dissent. And we certainly must not be deterred by those who embrace evil and call it good. And we will not be stopped from celebrating the greatness of our country and our foundational freedoms by those who mock it's greatness by being intolerant of differing opinion and seeking to muzzle dissent with shrill cries of imagined insults."
For too long that has been the route we have been heading. It is time that stopped. November 2nd showed where we wanted to go and the likes of Jared Loughner and those who wish to use that tragedy to stifle the rest of us will not prevail.
We are one nation under God and with God nothing is impossible. Freedom will reign for where the Spirit of the Lord is--there is Liberty.
He wounded thirteen and killed these:
U.S. District Judge John Roll, 63; Dorthy Murray, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; Christina Greene, 9; Phyllis Scheck, 79; Gabe Zimmerman, 30.
We pray for Gabrielle Gifford and the others victimized by this lost soul who wanted to kill, steal and destroy.
We honor them by making sure that this continues to be a land where the goodness in people's hearts shines like a city on a hill. And with God's help we can.
The counsel of the LORD standeth forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Psalm 33:11
The horrible event in Tucson, Arizona resulted in a media frenzy that brought out how ugly things can get when the wrong line of thinking is put out. It was almost like a feeding frenzy for putting out whatever one can get a hold of, suppositions, blames which moved the emotions of the majority of Americans.
The news has to pique people's interest and they did but sometimes unfortunately with helping the wrong rhetoric and fanning the blame game. Unlike the Ft. Hood shootings where the American were being told not to play the blame game by the main stream media, this one was quite the opposite. Why is that? It seemingly depends on their agenda as to who is to be blamed or not.
But then here comes Sarah Palin with her video and she rightfully points out with a reminder from Ronald Reagan truths that needs to come out. Quit playing the blame game which eventually leads to more of our rights as lawful citizens being taken away because of the hate that is unfortunately in some people of society. There is nothing new under the sun and we can learn from the past and react in the right way with reason and clarity. Thank you Sarah for letting the light of truth shine. May God bless you and may God bless America. Here are excerpts from her speech:
"...Our exceptional country so vibrant with ideas and passionate exchange and debate of ideas--its a light to the rest of the world. Congresswoman Gifford and her constituents were exercising their right to exchange ideas that day to celebrate our republics core valuesand peacefully assemble to petition our government...
Pres Reagan said we must reject the idea that everytime a law is broken society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that that each individual is accountablefor his actions. Acts of mounstorus criminality stand on their own. They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of those of a state...not with those who listen to talk radio,... ,not with law abiding citizens that exercise their first amendment rights in campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election. The last election was all about taking responsibility for our country's future.
There are those who claim to say political rhetoric is to blame...
Public discourse and debate isn't a sign of crisis... it is part of why America is exceptional!
No one must be deterred from speaking up and speaking out in peaceful dissent. And we certainly must not be deterred by those who embrace evil and call it good. And we will not be stopped from celebrating the greatness of our country and our foundational freedoms by those who mock it's greatness by being intolerant of differing opinion and seeking to muzzle dissent with shrill cries of imagined insults.
It is in the hour when our values are challenged that we must remain resolved to protect those values.
...In times like these WE need GOD's guidance and the peace he provides. We need strength to not to let the random acts of a criminal turn us against ourselves or weaken our solid foundation or provide a pretext to stifle debate.
America must be stonger than the evil we saw displayed last week. We are better than the mindless finger pointing we endured in the wake of the tragedy. We will come out of this stronger and more united in our desire to peacefully engage in the great debate of our times to respectfully embrace our differences in a positive manner. And to unite in the knowledge though our ideas may be different, we must all strive for a better future for our country. Yes, may God bless America.

For He Has Not Given Us A Spirit of Fear But of Power, Love and A Sound Mind (2 Timothy 1:7)
The latest incident to strike terror in the hearts of many, the shootings of Jared Loughner, is another example of a very disturbed, angry individual filled with evil intent and who want others to feel pain through destruction and mayhem. There are many like him in this world, many which doesn't make it on the news.
I heard of one mother a long time ago, recalling how her sweet kind son was walking by the River Thames in England and was killed for a pitiful amount. But in retrospect, she said evil was everywhere and it was lurking there in the thief who robbed her son of his life for a few measly sum of money. See, that is what evil does-- it kills, steals and destroys.
Terrorism is another tool of evil and it strikes fear to millions around the world. After watching the movie "A Mighty Heart" about Mariane Pearl (portrayed by Angelina Jolie) and Daniel Pearl which was very painful, you saw hope alive in their child named Adam. What a fitting name for this child of the future--given the name of the first man that God made. Wouldn't it be awesome if mankind would learn from his past and realize without God's own Son in his heart--true peace would be impossible?
It is ironic that those who killed Daniel Pearl sought to destroy and strike fear but in reality they unleashed light in this dark world as one can see in the many affected--his wife, Mariane and even a celebrity such as Angelina Jolie. It's a story many of these evil ones re-create throughout history--in their attempt to change history and win. Again another Daniel, a Jew, showed the light of truth for so many and left a legacy of hope for us all.
And in this world full of terror--the question of who wins is really simple--it's the ones who know...There is a great tool for good throughout this world in the Holy Scriptures that lends witness to the only One who can bring peace. And how amazing that God has made it available for many the world over.
One of our guest on City On A Hill Radio Show, John Bernard, who lost his only son-- Lance Cpl Joshua Bernard-- knows. And he gives insight on where help comes from in his latest blog "Prophetic Fairy Tales or Inconvenient Corroboration":
"Many in this country are heading for a cross road; a place where a decision will have to be made. On the one hand, there has been a stubborn if not self-destructive resistance to Biblical teaching and an almost zealous effort to expunge all written commentary, history and remnant of Biblical teaching from the national psyche. After all; academia has succeeded in convincing the majority of the population that the very phrase 'separation of church and state' exists in the writings of the US Constitution…It doesn't.
On the other hand, those of us who are looking, see an ever mounting pile of evidence to suggest that much of what was spoken of in the books of Ezekiel, Daniel, Matthew and Revelation may be closer to coming to fruition than at any point in human history."
--There is much wisdom from what John Bernard says. He knows from experience the pain of losing someone, his most precious son but he also knows-- he and Joshua wins. Study the Holy Scriptures for yourself and see who wins forever.
Hosea 6:3
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD
John 4:21-26
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
We all hear about New Year's Resolutions but what if we Christians truly resolved to thank God from whom all our blessings flow in this coming year? What a difference that would make the world over.
In Romans 1:28-32
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
We have above as a warning. Today we have vast information before us on the history of man and so much about the truth of Jeus Christ. But many today would rather put their faith and trust on man rather than on Jesus Christ.
We see the result of that in a Europe whose faith in Christ is so diminished (parallels their downward national slide) and yet with all their intellectual pride about them that they can save the world from global catastrophe (more climate change conferences). You would think from Hitler (one man's incredible rise to power and search for intellectual super race) that a lesson on the failings of man fully dependent on his intellect would stick as after all it came with worldwide costs.
But then this is what happens when men forget where the blessings come from. Germany would do well to learn more about their great men of God such as Dietrich Boenhoeffer and many others. France would do well to remember their Joan of Arc, England would do well to remember their William Wilberforce.
I plan on reading Eric Metaxas new book Boenhoeffer--I hope so will you and learn the story of a man who took on the full counsel of God and decided to act and give his all. May Germans revere his legacy amidst Hitler's and ask themselves whose constructs are they following more these days? When we hear of Christian home-schooling families in trouble with their German government, one wonders have they not learned at all of the path they are re-visiting?
Leo Alexander, who was consultant to the Secretary of War and on duty with the office of Chief Counselor for War Crimes in Nuremberg, says that what happened in Nazi Germany "all started with the acceptance of the attitude that there is such a thing as life not worthy to be lived."
An elderly German man who lived through the Holocaust tells the following story:
I always considered myself a Christian. I attended a church since I was a small boy. We had heard the stories of what was happening to the Jews; but like most people in America today, we tried to distance ourselves from the reality of what was really taking place. What could anyone do to stop it?
A railroad track ran behind our small church, and each Sunday morning we would hear the whistle from a distance and then the clacking of the wheels moving over the track. We became disturbed when one Sunday we heard cries coming from the train as it passed by. We grimly realized that the train was carrying Jews.
Week after week that train whistle would blow. We would dread to hear the sound of those old wheels because we knew that the Jews would begin to cry out to us as they passed our church. It was so terribly disturbing! We could do nothing to help these poor people, yet their screams tormented us. We knew exactly at what time that whistle would blow, and we decided the only way to keep from being so disturbed by the cries was to start singing our hymns. If some of the screams reached our ears, we'd just sing a little louder until we could hear them no more.
Years have passed, and no one talks about it much any more; but I still hear that train whistle in my sleep. I can still hear them crying out for help. God forgive all of us who called ourselves Christians, yet did nothing to intervene.
This year hopefully, may be a year, for more to remember where their true blessings come from and what it truly means to be a Christian. Beyond our church walls is a world that needs us to be involved and show Christ. May America and the world remember the effects of the one whose birth we just celebrated. Many througout history has given their very best, as his followers, and may we remember with grateful hearts their legacy. Maybe then, Europe can come out of its downward spiral and along with America and the rest of the world, truly learn from the One who came as a Light to the world.
Faith in Christ vs Faith in Man--choose well--read history starting with the Bible--for your eternal future depends it. America's history shows that great men knew America needs to pray. Hope you will for yourself too.
Ben Franklin--
In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, graciously answered....
I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel...
I therefore beg leave to move- henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business...

Jesus said in Matthew 22:21
Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
Who does America belong to? Look at our coins. The statement above was made by Jesus and it is a reminder of what the Founders determined their nation to be--a nation under God. The founding fathers left us with a guideline for this nation for their posterity to receive the blessings of God. But unfortunately we have strayed far away from their intent that today we hear Obama applauding a lifesyle that the Founders considered an abomination for their standard was the word of God. When the word of man becomes the standard then the path becomes very crooked indeed.
Today the President (along with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi among others) is very proud to have signed the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell as if today marks their freedom when in truth all it did was give glory to this lifestyle. Did he just forget that recently Bradley Manning of this same lifestyle, a traitor, just gave our nation's defense secrets? Of course not. What a sad day today is in America when what God calls evil and an abomination --is being held up with pride by some of this nation's highest leaders. But at the same time we have to remind ourselves that God is sovereign and he will not be mocked by the ways of man.
Thank God there is a new Congress coming up--there is hope that again some maybe many in the halls of Congress will be using the right standards again. DADT may have been repealed but I daresay in the hearts of many Americans this will be a rally cry for 2012 especially in light of how the lame duck Congress and those senators did not even want to have proper hearing on this most important issue. Standing up for our military will be the least we can do for those who died for us.
Also, the unkindest thing we can do to those under the bondage of the homosexual lifestyle is to not point out that the price of that sin is hell for eternity. That would be the unkindest thing of all. Their so-called friends in that lifestyle will never tell them that but just like everyone else that death comes too--we will not wake up on the other side to our friends but before Jehovah. Read the Bible and find out what happens for it means forever and I pray our leaders will realize God will not be mocked--He will have the last Word. The Founding Fathers whose wisdom is unequalled by anyone in our nation's leadership today--knew that-- and that is why our national motto is "one nation under God."
In Nahum Chapters 1 and 2--God had his way with Nineveh--though they listened and repented when Jonah spoke--eventually they went back to evil and is no more. God is sovereign and he will have his way. We need to learn from the past so that we can know how to behave today as a nation, as a people.
The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
