Common Core Standards--Could It Awake The Bible Belt Of America?

Today was a sad day for Alabama as the rights of parents over their child's education was seen as unimportant in the scheme of the more important thing--accepting national standards to make education for our kids better.  That is a failure at the get go as they discount the most important help to the child--his parents.  It is again the perfect pattern we see of promoting something evil as good and vice versa.  If one doesn't have his bearings right--it is so easy to be misled and turned upside down. 

The godly foundation of this nation is being undermined daily and God's ways which the Founders followed in that monumental instrument called the Constitution are being diminished in importance.  Result is a nation with people who are making more laws yet are more out of control than ever, a nation with more education bureaucrats yet lower literacy, a nation with a government that says it cares about its citizens yet slowly steals away their rights.  And today in Alabama, they stole one right too many---the right of parents over their children's education.

Many hoped the vote made last November to accept common core standards could be rescinded as more truths have been found (go to truthinamericaneducation.com).  However the majority of Alabama's state school board decided " Washington knows best".  For those that do not believe that, here are some suggestions for action:

1. Get your pastor to read Letter To Alabama Pastors from one of this nation's best --Pastor Cary     Gordon (he helped oust the three Iowa Supreme Court Justicies last year).
2. Along with the above letter, give your pastor the list of what pastors and churches can and cannot do (some may be so bold that they don't mind making the right stand and will do so at any cost.) and ask him to allow you to distribute info (such as this article).
3. Find out as much information on common core standards from Truthinamericaneducation.com
4. Listen to City On A Hill's interviews (live or at any time on podcast) to gain perspectives from those in the fight and what you can do to help.  We interview everyone we can such as Eagle Forum, Donna Garner of Ed Watch, Al State Board Member Betty Peters, Elois Zeanah of AFRW,Tea Parties, legislators and constitutional lawyers such as with the Foundation For Moral Law.
5. Make this cause a part of your prayer as it is a fight for your family as we know the power of prayer (George Washington's prayer blessed us all).  Remember God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind!

Get encouraged as there are avenues ahead.  The loss today was really a win because truth shone and now the Bible Belt of America has awakened...tomorrow is really the start of freedom for many-- as "truth sets men free".  Share this and may God bless you for being part of the Awakening!

Morning Has Broken--Another Great Awakening

Hope is in the air.  Something that has always been but not many see as there.  I read Mark 11:22-25 and saw it in a different light.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Recently I have asked of God  things which seemed impossible--facts were all against it happening, as a matter of fact the decks were stacked literally sky high to the contrary of what I asked.  Yet, three times God showed himself as the Lord of the unseen and what I asked came brightly through.  Could it be coincidences--not to me.  It was someone up above teaching me a lesson for His Word is true.  I believe the lesson for me is that He comes through at the darkest time to prove what no one else can do but my Savior.  He can stop time and only He can calm the storms of my life (as well as yours) and to top it all He parts the clouds and lets His light, His love shine through.  How awesome is that!

In John 18:37--Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Hope you'll seek him as I have for awesome is He who loved us so much He sent his only Son to show us the way so that we can live with him in heaven for eternity.  It is a gift like no other.  Hope you will accept it.  Many have heard, many have even sung about it.   I heard the song "Morning Has Broken" sung by Steve Green and it felt like listening to music heralding God's best for me--it awaits.  But I also realized there are others who even with a gift of music can't see past the sound to the truth--Cat Stevens is one of those.  What a paradox Steve Green and Cat Stevens both sung "Morning Has Broken" but only one tasted God's Word.  Hope you will taste for yourself and see for He is good and his love endures forever! 

What Happened 9/12 in Washington DC and How Many Were There?

 

On 9/12 in Washington DC, America showed it was indeed fed up and they were going to be seen and heard.  Amidst the town hall meetings which were set up to hear constituents--many in Congress really did not want to hear--they just wanted to tell us what they were going to do for us and that they know best.  Well, American's got tired of not being heard and they banded together to send a message to Congress--this is a nation for "We the People." 

It was an amazing crowd.  There is no official report that accurately states the correct number but look at the picture taken from top of capitol and you know it was a huge crowd--many says-one of the largest ever. A crowd of a million is very likely as the webcams from below links pretty much attest to that and even this overseas British news agree with that.

Reuters News as of 9 am Friday 9-18-09 had nothing on the 9/12 rally.No matter the naysayers-- it was indeed a day to be remembered and inspired.  It was an incredible way to fight the hijacking of this nation as lawmakers got a taste of what is going to happen in their districts in the next election.  It was a peaceful protest full of patriotic Americans who most-- barely could have afforded this.  But they put their money where their mouth is and there is many more of them that couldn't get there and will do the same.  Obama was out of town but that's okay--as the message was loud and clear enough to be heard by his administration--Pelosi and Reid included.   The founding fathers would have been proud.  America is no longer asleep--America has gotten back to trying to run their country onto the right track.  So even though most mainstream media didn't report it--I daresay our Congress and Pres got the message right in their face.  Hear podcast on insight from Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt (one proud
