EPHRAIM'S ARROW--JEWISH STUDIES

Weather By The Hour

Don't forget as you check on the weather to check in with the One who calms the storms!

Fields White To Harvest

Lord, I thought I knew you,

but know the winds have changed.

Tossed away, will you find me?

Can still , my heart be sustained?

Just me and you when things were new,

then the season's storms blew by.

Did I forget to worship you?

Will you come, Lord Jesus to gather us- your sheep.

For the days grow long and still,

If we watch and wait, will you hear us yet-

Can we stand strong to do you will?

The wheat has been blowing in that field,

While the laborers are so few.

What then, now are we waiting for?

Can hardened hearts become like new?

Safely can we stay behind you,

as we march with your trumpet sound?

Or- have we stayed and hid so long now,

   That our roots dry underground?

I pray Lord that you will find me.

I pray not to be ashamed.

I seek you when it's early Lord.

I pray not to fall away.

So come Lord Jesus come quickly-

The terrible day is at hand.

I pray we'll all be steadfast.

So you may strengthen our spirits ,

as we stand.

Tell Senators No To An Immigration Reform That Will Undermine DOMA Since Sen. Leahy Tacked On LGBT Bi-national Amendment. A vote on that amendment is to take place the week of May 13.

"After six months of mulling over November's election results, many Republicans remain convinced that the party's only path to future victory is to improve the GOP's appeal to Hispanic voters," as stated by Byron York's article.

While immigration program does needs reform,  it must be done not in haste or panic or fear to the point that it allows an inroad to the destruction of the institution of marriage.  Study below and call your Senators as we must not compromise.

$6.3 TRILLION COST TO TAXPAYERS FOR AMNESTY & AMENDMENT FOR BI-NATIONAL LGBT COUPLES -- 5.7.13
5.7.13 – Two Action Steps:
Action Step #1 – Read the free Heritage Foundation report on the Gang of Eight’s comprehensive immigration reform (link posted below).
Action Step #2 – Contact your Congressmen on the Senate Judiciary Committee and ask them to vote against any amendment that would give illegal immigrant bi-national lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender couples legal citizenship.  This amendment would be against the Defense of Marriage Act.
===========
ACTION STEP #1:
READ AND SHARE FREE COPY OF ROBERT RECTOR AND JASON RICHWINE’S HERITAGE FOUNDATION REPORT ON THE GANG OF EIGHT’S  IMMIGRATION REFORM:
Link to this report:  The Fiscal Cost of Unlawful Immigrants and Amnesty to the U.S. Taxpayer
Excerpts about this report:
“With amnesty, unlawful immigrants would become lawful—and become eligible for Obamacare benefits, Social Security, welfare, and Medicare.”
“The $6.3 trillion number is the cost to taxpayers of supporting unlawful immigrants under amnesty, including any taxes those immigrants would pay into the system versus the amount of government benefits and services they would take out.”
“…the average adult unlawful immigrant would receive $592,000 more in government benefits over the course of his remaining lifetime than he would pay in taxes.”
==========
ACTION STEP #2:
A huge push by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community to legalize bi-national LGBT couples as a part of the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform is being led by Republican Congressmen Charlie Dent/Richard Hanna and Senators Susan Collins (Republican) and Patrick Leahy (Democrat).  Leahy is the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and he did tack on the LGBT bi-national amendment  May 7. A vote on that amendment is to take place the week of May 13.
5.2.13 – POLIGLOT – “A Queer Spin on Politics” –
http://www.metroweekly.com/mt/mt-search.cgi?blog_id=18&tag=Republican%20Party&limit=20
Excerpts from this article:
The Senate immigration bill unveiled by a bipartisan group of eights senators last month did not include provisions for same-sex couples, despite a fierce push from advocates and the backing of President Barack Obama. Under the Defense of Marriage Act, foreigners in relationships with Americans of the same-sex are denied various protections, including eligibility for green cards, because the federal government does not recognize such relationships. According to the Family Equality Council, there are more than 36,000 binational same-sex couples living in the United States today…
Nevertheless, supporters of an LGBT-inclusive immigration bill have said they will amend the legislation in the Senate Judiciary Committee as early as next week.
Advocates have said they have received assurances that Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, will tack on the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) as an amendment to the 844-page immigration bill. UAFA would recognize immigrants in relationships with Americans of the same-sex and grant them various protections, including eligibility for visas.  A vote on the UAFA amendment is on the week of May 13.
