EPHRAIM'S ARROW--JEWISH STUDIES

Weather By The Hour

Don't forget as you check on the weather to check in with the One who calms the storms!

Fields White To Harvest

Lord, I thought I knew you,

but know the winds have changed.

Tossed away, will you find me?

Can still , my heart be sustained?

Just me and you when things were new,

then the season's storms blew by.

Did I forget to worship you?

Will you come, Lord Jesus to gather us- your sheep.

For the days grow long and still,

If we watch and wait, will you hear us yet-

Can we stand strong to do you will?

The wheat has been blowing in that field,

While the laborers are so few.

What then, now are we waiting for?

Can hardened hearts become like new?

Safely can we stay behind you,

as we march with your trumpet sound?

Or- have we stayed and hid so long now,

   That our roots dry underground?

I pray Lord that you will find me.

I pray not to be ashamed.

I seek you when it's early Lord.

I pray not to fall away.

So come Lord Jesus come quickly-

The terrible day is at hand.

I pray we'll all be steadfast.

So you may strengthen our spirits ,

as we stand.

Creation vs Evolution

The American Vision test debate at the Dothan Opera House --A Success!

People were turned away as theOpera Housewas packed full in Dothan, Alabamaand is giving an incentive to Rob Carter and Creation Ministries as well as to Gary DeMar of The American Vision to do these type of debates in other towns. Please visit the websites below and invite them to come your area. This is a chance for the truth to be heard as even though the schools may shut it out from our children's thoughts--you can help make it be heard in your part of the country.

Rob Carter, theCreationist Speaker, quoted George Ward an evolutionist and a Nobel Prize winner as saying "There are only two possibleexplanation as to how life arose--spontaneous generation arising to evolution or supernatural creative act of God-- there is no other possibility." Spontaneous generation was scientifically disproved 120 yers ago by Louis Pasteur and others but that just leaves us with one other possibility--that life cameas asupernatural act of creation by God butI can't accept that philosophy becauseI do not want to believe in God therefore I choose to believe in thatwhich Iknow is scientifically impossible--spontaneous generation leading to evolution.

And thismindset is prevalent in our schools of learning today as most stifle debate.

According to our interview with Judge Roy Moore (which you can heargo to podcast for 12-8-07)

"The argument over evolution is relatively new. You go back to theDeclaration of Independence, one of the basic things about the Declaration which is called our Organic Law is the statementthat 'we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal- endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights among these are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness'.

In other words the part that we are created is part of our Organic Law- when the SupremeCourt start to take that away --Edward vs Angelar case out of Louisiana in 1987-- they said you couldn't teach creation anymore and basically they have altered the very basis of our societyand they've taken away the thing Jeffersons saysis the truth.

Because Jefferson quoted in his Billfor Religious Freedom '...and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself; that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate.'

Thomas Jeffersonenvisioneda learning institution as a great sourcefor improving the American mind and governing the nation. This was in his letter to an English reformer Jefferson states it "will be based on the illimitable freedom of the human mind. For here we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error as long as reason is left free to combat it."

Our great halls of learning should be thus but today most are truly afraid to follow truth and they hide under the term of not offending someone else--the true offense is against the future of this nation and the legacy for our children. It is time to make your stand for the truth thatkeeps men free. Thank God for the wisdom of the Founding fathers who humbled themselves before Almighty God and sought his help to form this great nation. Let us help keep it the land of the free--let truth and freedom ring.

Itsimply means truth always prevails over evil anderror unless man interposes-- cut off-- free argument and debate. And what thegovernment has done is take away the natural weapons of truth- free argument and debate-- when they forbid any discussion of creationism in school and therefore they do exactly whatJefferson said would occur next whent they do then error becomes dangerous. It's certainly become dangerous- it'slead to our school shootings violencewe have in our school against teachers, principals vice versa etc. It's all about might makes right-- strongest survive and thats what kind of society we end up with. But if it's about God and respect for your fellow man and we'reall created equal we would have a different society as we once did."

Homeschooling

(Please take a look at some of the homeschool links on the right navigation bars.)

What is homeschooling? I would like to define the word. Home- a dwelling house; the house or place in which one resides; close;to the point. School- a place or house in which persons are instructed in arts, science, languages or any species of learning; or the pupils assembled for instruction; the state of instruction; a place of education, or collection of pupils, of any kind;separate denomination or sect; or a system of doctrine taught by particular teachers, or peculiar to any denomination of christians or philosophers; any place of improvement; to train; to tutor; to educate. In our modern world, we have allowed our definition of school to become very different. In our imaginations, we imagine a school building with separate classrooms and many students being taught by one teacher. In the American Dictionary of the English Language (1828), the word school had a very different meaning. My home meets the definition for school. I teach my children in our home. They are learning very well how to become good christian young men and women. I teach the Bible (KJV), Science, History, Language Arts, Music, Art, Home Skills, Physical Education, Typing, foreign languages, and several other subjects. My days are not always full of picnics and sipping lemonade(although we have had those days as well :)). We live normal lives and have good and bad days just like anyone else, but the difference for us, is that along with other christians, we have the Lord to seek refuge in. God gives us wisdom when nothing else can. It is for the sake of our children that I went against the grain and stayed home with them. I am not seeking a status of "hero" or "martyr". I am seeking to teach my children all they need to know to make it in this ungodly world we exist in. God is not the author of confusion, but of a sound mind. I have taught in a classroom, and there were times I wanted to spend more time on a subject, but due to conflicting schedules, I could not. There were times when a student desperately needed extra attention, but I could not stop, due to the schedule. In our home, I have already been able to stop and assist my daughter in a subject and she understands it better now. I am learning more about my children each day. They are individual, and unique. It has been a blessing to get to know them. They are not isolated. We are involved in a homeschool support group. My children attend 4-H meetings, Keepers of the Faith meetings, park days, craft days, and other activities. Every parent wants what is best for their child. In our case, this is best for us at this stage in our lives as a family. I am never going to say everyone must homeschool or every public school is bad. There are many public schools that are very good. The goal is to teach our children in the best way that they can learn. My children are blooming in ways that were not available to them until we began the adventure of homeschooling together. God has enlisted my husband and myself to guard our children and to train them in His ways. We prayerfully continue on the path of homeschooling and training our children to be keepers of the home and teachers of the faith.

In His Steps,

Katie Faulk

Education Watch by Ms. Annette

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord; and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up - Deuteronomy 6:4-7.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! - Isaiah 5:20,21.

God didn't suggest that we teach our children His statutes. He commanded us to do this. Failure to do this brings dire consequences. Life itself will not go well with us, nor for our children. Our days on this earth will be shortened.

Instead of teaching our children God's commandments our culture is teaching them that evil is good and good is evil. For example, in California recently, a bill was introduced that would require students in public schools be taught a "positive" attitude about homosexuality. Romans 1:26-32 emphatically teaches that God has not ordained homosexuality. God hates sin, but loves the sinner. When mankind changes the truth of God into a lie and whenwe do not like to retain God inour knowledge, God givesus over to a reprobate mind which leads to a searing of our conscience (1 Timothy 4:1-3). Once this happenswebecome so hardened thatwe cannot tell the difference in right and wrong. This is multiplied by millions, thus creating a culture that promotes evil and demotes good.

Violence becomes more rampant. Pedophilia becomes acceptable. Children are no longer revered as gifts from God. Each generation becomes more suceptible to even more degenerate life styles. When this happens persecution of those who still stand for righteousness becomes a part of our society.

All it takes is confession and repentance to turn this around. Ninevahwas spared from total destruction and given an additional hundred years when they heeded Jonah's warning and repented in sackcloth and ashes.

America was founded on godly principles. Our founding fathers' intention for this nation was for us to be God-fearing people. As long as we kept God in our homes, schools and government we were blessed. Now that we are turning our backs on Him, we are seeing calamities that this nation has never experienced before. God has promised to bless any nation who honors Him, but destruction comes upon those who turn away from practicing the laws and commandments that He has given us.

Let us return unto the Lord and He will deliver us from the hands of our enemies. We have been blessed as a nation because we love the Lord. Now that love is waxing cold. What can we expect in return?

We must teach God's laws to our children and our grandchildren. The future of this nation lies with them.
